Success Technologies staff has extensive experience working with youth and families.  The staff is dedicated to making products and services available which will help communities and families develop today's children into tomorrow's competent, successful adults.

We also believe that youth need available resources to help them develop competencies on their own, in self-study programs, so that they are less dependent on the efforts of adults to help them be successful.

Through this web page and our publications and training services, we intend to insure that youth, families, and communities have at least one good resource, as well as to refer you to others.

Coaching Change Facilitating Transition For Foster Care Youth

There is a common belief that all of us resist change. This is simply not true. William Bridges, in his model of change and transition points out that change can be either something we enjoy, or something we resist. He makes a distinction between change, and “transition”, the internal process that we experience as the result of some changes.

Intensive Youth Coaching Skills

This training series is our most comprehensive training product, offering up to twelve days of skill development for those who want to be effective in coaching youth to become successful adults.  The training shares components with our other youth training products and organizes all the products into a coherent, powerful skill set.

Independent Living Skills

Parents, Agencies, Foster Parents, and, especially, youth need practical resources to help them develop competence. This three-day series, some of which is available on line here provides practical strategies for achievement of youth goals. The training program offers training in developing rapid rapport with youth and in dialoguing with them about their goals and their futures.

In addition, the series offers very specific strategies and questions to use in helping youth:

  • Find motivation for goals
  • Make quality decisions
  • Develop realistic beliefs
  • Use creative approaches
  • Learn easily

Selling Youth On Themselves

This, our newest training and set of products applies our "Ethical Influence" skills to the positive development of youth self concept and skills.  Participants are taught how to develop rapport with youth, use influential language to motivate them and help them see the strengths in themselves.  Then they learn to use principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help youth develop the traits of optimism.

Journey to Success For Youth

This product is our model for youth development in community.  We have developed a series of very specific strategies for youth, families, and agencies to use in collaborative youth development efforts.  The model is asset and desire-based, complementary to the Search Institute and other youth development models, except that we attempt to prioritize assets, especially for high risk youth, and offer very specific approaches to developing those assets.  Some of the strategies in this model overlap with the Independent Living Skills workshops.
